When reading, whether in print or online, you have to make a concerted effort to leave the text and go find the foot note reference.

******

I realize that and I don’t know many LDS who would not check the footnotes.
Some of the footnotes do not change the overall meaning of some of the verses but the point I am making is that the LDS KJV does have the JS translations noted in it.

*******

As a longtime Mormon (born and raised) I also have to question the idea that all LDS people check the footnotes. I rarely do, actually. But then again, I see them as more of a distraction than anything. I’m just not a footnote type of gal, and that’s including any kind of reading, not just the scriptures.

Anyway, the real point is, the scripture in the fake Christmas card came from the Book of Mormon, not the Bible, and yes, in the LDS Church, they are two completely separate books of scripture.

No Romney supporter would think this is a good idea, so the question becomes “Whodunit?” The answer is, I have no clue.

Unfortunately.

I wrote about this card on my blog, if you want to check it out.

This kind of thing really twerks my ticker, and I sincerely hope they figure out who it is, and soon.

I was a convert and so were many of my friends. We didn't want to skip any part of the scriptures. Some of us were somewhat envious that we weren't born into the church and scared we would miss something lol

Thanks for your blog link! I have mixed feelings on the card. Obviously it was sent out with a racial tone and as your blog says implies the church is getting into politics.
My mixed feelings is on who would do such a thing. I don't think it would be a former Mormon. Can't remember if I read that in this thread or your blog. As a former Mormon that is something I would never do. After 20 years as an active member I may have left the church but I can't imagine anyone doing such a thing. I would sway more to someone who wants him out of the race and is threatened by Romney.
