Oh Aqua! what a great thread & LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the patriotic colors!. Will re read all the information tonight (just scanned)
I have never been to Times Square..
EVER..
only once in NYC even & that was when I finished OCS & was dropping off my friend who lived there on the way back from RI to Ohio. BUT, I was very sick with strep & so she drove my car & I was in her bed for 3 days sick instead of being tourist. I HAD to leave on day 4 -still not well -as I resumed college classes again the next day.
I will dig out my pix from last years New Years Eve in your backyard (Asheville - Grove Park Inn & Biltmore).. that was one of the niceest LONG weekend NYE’s I have ever had. My friend spoiled me rotten with body wraps, massages, facials, classy food & being tourist

READ: Matthew 16:21-28
Whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. Matthew 16:25
Western Michigan is plagued by snowy winters, requiring that salt be put on road surfaces to make them safer to travel. The problem is that salt eats away at a cars metal body. So, going to a car wash is a frequent winter ritual.
Recently I was sitting in a car-wash facility near the end of the washing process when the machines began to spray a special liquid all over the car. The sign said it was a drying agent, but that struck me as odd. Wetting something down to dry it seems contrary to what youd expect. Yet that is precisely what those chemicals are designed to do. It is counter-intuitive thinkinga paradox.
Jesus also dealt in counter-intuitive thinking when presenting His kingdom message to His followers. In Matthew 16:25, He said, Whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. That doesnt sound right. To save your life, you have to lose it? That seems like saying, To dry something, you wet it down! Yet, it is absolutely true. Only as we die to self, entrusting ownership of our lives to Christ, can we learn what it means to really live.
Dying to live may seem counter-intuitive, but it is the heart of the Christian experience.
Aquamarine .... your thread is beautiful.
Thank you for giving us a place to ring in the new year.
I’m sorry, you have to be insane to go there on New Year’s.
Might as well have a sign on your back, “Volunteer Terror Target.”
Not to mention all those people, oh the humanity!
Happy New Year
I'm afraid I am just too pooped to party, Christmas just did me in this year.......but I do wish everyone a wonderful 2008, and I will be back as soon as I rest up and as soon as I get my new computer and VISTA figured out. It's been a challenge for this old bear. LOL.
Under the weather for a little while, I wanna slip a little greeting under the table, in the nick of time, to all the Finest, and a wish for a most wonderful and Happy New Year.
2008 ... sounds like the future has arrived ... may it be the best of all possibles, culminating in a resounding defeat for Hillary and the Dark Side of the Force.
May the Good Lord always bless and favor the USA!
