I think we’ll all be surprised by how poorly he does. I’m now convinced he will finish behind McCain, and probably Giuliani. It’s about 50/50 whether or not he’ll be Ron Paul at this point.

You are deluding yourself if you think he’s been campaigning. He hasn’t been. He’s basically the hare in the race, not the tortoise as some have insisted. He’s not slow and steady. He’s came out strong and fast when he entered, rocketing to the top of the GOP field. Then he decided to take a nap under a tree until the very end, where he thinks he can sprint to a finish. He was wrong. He’s disappointed all of us who were behind him. That’s why he’s lost 70% of us. It’s really a damn shame.

Think about it. Your argument rests on the premise that Fred Thompson is not campaigning. Do you not see the absurdity?

Thompson will get at least second in Iowa, bringing him to an eventual victory. He will be the Republican nominee, and he will devastate his opponent in the general election.
