“I have come to the conclusion that McCain would be the best choice if Republicans want to win in Iraq”

McCain’s a panderer. Fred Thompson is a straight talker. What’s so hard about this?
How about keeping it in context?
I said if/when Fred Thompson is no longer viable, McCain is the back-up candidate, if we want to win in Iraq. The others are the candidates if we want to lose in November.
And how about opening your eyes? We’re already winning in Iraq!
Yeah, right now, because we have a president who has been willing to put it all on the line to stick it out in Iraq against intense Democrat opposition. The Democrats are still going to want to pull the plug prematurely and reverse all of our gains in January 2009. We need a president who is willing to stand as firm as President Bush has and not fold to Democrat pressure tactics. I don't think Fred would and I know John McCain wouldn't. I'm not so sure about the rest, particularly Romney and Huckster.

Your assessment is backwards. Fred Thompson gets an A in standing up for principle. McCain gets a C, based on his history of pandering to the media and to the democrats.

McCain would be a disaster.

Have you ever seen the wheels come off a pickup? It doesn’t happen. Fred Thompson is rolling on, and the media can’t stop him.
