I didn’t see this posted anywhere but from the generally reliable (especially on foreign issues) Economist:
“Alas, her supporters are now likely to blame her killing on the same shadowy army elite. And with stronger possible justification: Miss Bhuttos killer is alleged to have approached to within 20 yards of her car, carrying a gun, dressed in a police uniform. At the least, such a lapse in the security afforded to Mr Musharraf and his supporters would be unimaginable.”

Breaking on Fox News: John Edwards spoke with Musharraf and is about to address reporters.
The anchor says and I quote:
“How in the world does John Edwards have a direct link to Musharraf?”
The conclusion that Musharraf is responsible is too easy. Islam deals in duplicity as a matter of course.
Benazir knew or should have known that, absent massive security, her death was a given; one can only conclude that she had a conscious death-wish.
There had to be teams of killers all the way along the route, awaiting the opportunity to kill her once her motorcade stopped.
As to who set the whole thing up? Irrelevant.
Who finances, shelters, protects and provides intelligence to the killers is the only relevant question.
