Swanky, I believe it goes deeper than that, although the corporate aspect looms very large in his policy. I believe it is the "Compassionate Conservative" disease he suffers from. He wants to be loved and considered a "compassionate" individual.
It's an idiot's view of the world and I have done a complete 360 during his presidency, from believing him to be a moderately liberal idiot, to believing him to be a strong conservative (due in main to his magnificent judicial appointments and his steadfastness in the face of the immense anti-war pressures), back to believing him to be an idiot.
Back in 2004, shortly after I began blogging, all of the talk in the MSM was Katrina and how it and FEMA were going to deatroy Bush and the Republicans.

Forget Katrina, Illegal Immigration Bush’s Albatross warning politicians that Katrina would not be the big factor in elections, rather it would be illegal immigration. That was over 2 years ago and I have been proven right. Bush's commitment to the Cultural Genocide of America and the right of illegals to access our nation's bounty is nothing short of treason.
