Japan Confronts Space Alien Invasion Plans
Strategy Page.com ^ | 12-21-07

December 21, 2007: The Japanese Minister of Defense is calling for efforts to work out the military and legal issues that would result if Japanese were attacked by extraterrestrials. Two members of the Japanese cabinet have expressed personal beliefs in the existence of extraterrestrials out there, somewhere. Because of Japans 1947 constitution, there are restrictions on what actions the military can take. Basically, the Japanese military is, technically, a purely defensive force. But an extraterrestrial invasion might play out in ways that would find the Japanese military prevented, by lawyers, from moving against an extraterrestrial menace.

We're not making this up.

...I guarantee the U.S. military has also run said space alien scenarios...

Thank you. You said it before I could get it out. If “space aliens” don’t exist, then why does the government keep alien related documents locked up at the NSA and classified so researchers can’t see the information? After all, “they” don’t exist.

They should be easy to defeat before they get here.

We know their plan!

They Move to the left.....drop down....and then move to the right.

All we have to do is shoot up through our own shields! And knock off the mother ship when it.....

No wait! That’s SPACE INVADERS...not Invaders from space!

ACH we’re Doomed!

Wouldn’t this be the sort of situation where you’d just do what needs doing and not worry about what the laws and lawyers think ?

For the same reason we spend so much resources, human and otherwise on global warming. It doesn’t exist but we can build up some bureaucrats budget, headcount and power.

Has the Marshall checked with his lawyers to see if we are allowed to defend the townspeople from space aliens yet ?

If they were coming for American women we'd fight too.

Makes me want to cry, "96 tears".

This was pretty much covered in the loopiest of the Toho studio monster flicks....Destroy All Monsters (USA title). Not one but ten monsters go nuts in this one. Hence a favorite of the fans

All they need to know is “Klatu Verate Niktu”, or is it “Nikto”? Whoops. I better revisit that phrase. It is quite possible that the difference in “Niktu” and “Nikto” in extra-terrestrial is the difference in “cease and desist” and “annihilate the Earthlings!”

Gee. Who would think there could be so much difference between just a little old “u” and an “o”? A world of difference, in fact.

If you like Military SciFi, author John Ringo has a really good series called “Legacy of the Aldenata series,” also known as the “Posleen Series” and Posleen War Series after the name of invading species besetting and conquering much of Earth. In the books, he describes the political/military, economic and cultural aspects of the wars.

Folks...I take a different perspective on this story.

PACIFICATION!!!

Total and complete pacification of our enemies!!! Such that their defeat completely changes their thousand(s) year old culture. This is how ALL OF OUR ENEMIES, once defeated, should end up.

A capitalist juggernaut with a fetal position military!!

Sorry...[not really] but I am FOR the USA first, last and always!!

My mistake.

Do I believe you? Not necessarily. In any case, have a Merry Christmas.
