"I'm tired of the slum landlords, and I'm tired of the slum houses," she said.

You see, my dear, that's the incentive to work hard, study, learn a skill or trade, save money, invest, and steer clear of addictive substances and bad people. We like to call it "making a living". It's why being poor sucks, and not being poor is a generally considered to be a good thing.

So, what choices did you make in your life? They're probably different from mine. I'll always respect your right to make those decisions, of course, but I do not think that others will be paying for the consequences of your choices forever, hon. Just an FYI.

I’m tired of the slum landlords, and I’m tired of the slum houses,” she said.

I think we should move her into a real slum house and let her pay the rent herself. I think she should give ME her TV.
You know all in the spirit of the things people give you.
