There are people who believe the Earth is only 6000 years old (some on this forum). Google “Young Earth” sometime. The extreme young earthers believe the universe is only 6000 years old.

But that once again is a historical belief. You can’t present any “proof” that they are wrong. You can say that your carbon dating and other explorations indicate an old earth, but you can’t prove they do.

It’s like seeing a pencil on the floor. A FACT is that the pencil is on the floor, and if you look at the pencil and say “there is no pencil on the floor” you are ignoring facts.

But if someone says “gravity caused the pencil to fall off the table”, and someone else says “no, someone placed the pencil on the floor”, unless you get to OBSERVE the event yourself, you can’t say for certain which is true.

Even if there are thousands of pencils on the table, some perilously close to falling, and the pencil on the floor matches them, it’s still possible that all the pencils were placed there by someone.

That’s why I see historical “conclusions” as fundamentally different from observable facts.
