No CFLs in my house. The mercury is a hazard, the UV emissions are a hazard, and the light itself is a health hazard! Plus they won’t work with my dimmer switches.
LEDs are a possibility.
No CFLs in my house either. I refuse to knuckle under for these idiots. In fact, I’m going to go turn on a few extra lights in protest.
If you ever had an old thermometer, you would need 100 CFLs to equal the mercury in one of those. The new CFL lighting colors are not different than a normal bulb. CFL costs and technology has come a long way in the last 5 years. LEDs, once the price drops, will be far better.
