Don't worry folks. Congress is smarter than you. They know best.

Can a future president “unsign” it?

The new bulbs will look just lovely in my chandelier.

Good.

I guess this means the cops can't pull me over, taze me and shoot me because my license plate light is out.

I haven't read the bill, but I'm sure Congress could pass another law undoing these standards. Good luck with that.

Indeed. If we're going to have a pro-choice nation, I would at least like that to include light bulbs.

These people need to do some research before passing dopey bills. I heard somewhere about a big dust-up regarding mercury disposal in the new $7.00 florecent bulbs.

Another rumor is that the Prius is dirtier than a Hummer in terms of TOTAL pollution (batteries).

Perhaps a fellow FReeper has more accurate and precise details.

Doubtful. Everyone hates low flush toilets, but we’re stuck with them.

Also, as of the beginning of 2007, washing machines had to meet new energy requirements. The result? They don’t get clothes clean. Even Consumer Reports, which never met a government mandate it didn’t like, said they are awful.

Our politicians are a bunch of spineless morons.

Where such laws have been passed before (Canada maybe?) it seems that there were a lot of exceptions: outdoor lights, reflector lamps, lamps over xx wattage, oven lamps, nightlight lamps, auto bulbs, lamps under xx wattage, colored lamps, etc.

Yeah. I have compact flourescents throughout most of the house, but I need incandescent bulbs in one of the chandeliers and in a couple of wall sconces.

Guess I’ll have to go out and buy a twenty year supply of bulbs. Nuisance.

Image is all there is. El Presidente Jorge must know that Meheeco makes all the fluorescent bulbs....I guess he's ending them the business.

Damn, I am disappointed in Boosh.

I know, I know...if you don't like Boosh, vote for Her Heinous.....I might....the result will be the same.
