Try this from a very unlikely source:
Murtha Admits Surge Is Working.
Oh, I'm sure you'll come up with some explanation on how it's bogus, or just one tempest in a teapot, or whatever. But it's just the tip of the iceberg here. Go find 'em podnuh.

"Whether it is true or not is not the point," Pelosi complained. "Our entire strategy for next years election has been contingent on portraying the Iraq venture as a costly failure. All Democrats need to speak with one voice from the same script. We cant have everyone shooting off his mouth and saying whatever he wants. It will confuse the voters."
I guess it's a good thing I don't listen to Nancy Pelosi then... lol! I'm for truth and reason all the time. I'm completely against lying to voters to get a democrat in office. At least Mrs. Pelosi's comment is one of the least ambiguous statements I've seen all day. How refreshing!

I'm honestly surprised at how little faith you people have in a regular man's reasoning power.
Anyways, that statement truly is great news, but it's solely qualitative. We honestly can't be sure what "large numbers" mean. And it's pure speculation that we will be out by the Nov. 2008 election, unless he has some numbers that say we are something like 90% through with the WoT in Iraq. Really, the fact is that we're over there. The projections for when we'd be coming back simply keep getting extended. It would really seem that we've bitten off more we can chew because the only quantitative numbers we keep seeing is the increasing death toll of soldiers (and innocent civilians!) in Iraq!
Please, send me more articles if you have them. I love to read the most convincing stuff from both sides, but that will never come from the first try. I think it requires work from everybody on both sides to get the most convincing information and/or speculation.
