I absolutely despise the Huckster, and I will under no circumstances vote for him, even in the general election should he get the nomination.

However, I can't condone this kind of attack. You're going to attack a candidate because what his son did at a boyscout camp to a dog? Strikes me as rather nasty. This kind of attack is only going to help the Huckster in Iowa; people are going to assume his opponents put it out, which in turn makes them look sleazy.

We ought to be focusing on his record. Between his high spending, high taxing ways, to his giving clemency to any murder who shouted "Jesus," to his corruption, there's plenty of legitimate things upon which to attack him. His son hurting a dog is not one of them.

What isn’t clear about the story? As governor, Huckabee used his power and influence to short-circuit a state police investigation of his son. He later fired the chief of police because he didn’t bow to Huckabee’s wishes. This is called an abuse of power and interference with a criminal investigation.
