You spent a lot of energy misinterpreting what I wrote and/or trying to counter-argue with very poor logic.

For you and others who felt the need to respond to the “bigot” remark, please note that I was not speaking of values, but rather specific religious dogma. There is a huge difference.

In other words, Romney isn’t having a problem with Evangelicals because of his values. He is a concern because of the specific manner in which he chooses to worship God. -which is slightly different from their own. Everything else is the same, except that. But, that is reason enough not to vote for him. Now we can sit here and argue about Romney as a RINO, but to me he is by farthe most qualified candidate to be President among the entire field. The only reason he is not leading by a huge margin is because he is a Mormon and Evangelical voters have a problem with that.

To me that is close-minded bigotry and very far-away from the American ideal.

As a hard right Christian, Mormonism is *not* my problem with Romney. I would gladly vote for a Mormon who was a Conservative and had the record to prove it. Romney's problem is indeed that he is a RINO and cannot be trusted to uphold MAJOR planks of the Republican platform.

He is not trustworthy on Right to Life (Abortion).
He is not trustworthy regarding 2nd Amendment (Right to Keep and Bear Arms)
He is not trustworthy regarding Illegal Immigration and Border Security.

Look at his record rather than his electioneering and statements.

Without solid credentials in these (among others), he is not going to get the Conservative vote. In fact, He is nearly as un-electable as Giuliani, and almost as likely to cause Conservatives to bolt from the party en masse, IMHO.

Does Mormonism hurt him? Probably to some degree, but nowhere near the level you suppose. What hurts him the most is that he is too liberal, too corporate, a blue-blooded back-easterner, and Governor of very liberal Massachusetts.
