In all fairness, Jim Holt is a nice guy, but is a bit of religious kook, a former state senator with 8 kids and no visible means of support.
The vast majority of Huckabee’s tax increases were 2 issues:
1. Highways- mainly overlay the Interstates with 18” of asphalt (passed a popular vote with 80% of the vote)
2. State supreme court mandated school improvements.
Holt is a great guy, if the GOP had’nt left him hanging in 04 he would be our uS senator and not Blank stare lincoln. He came within a few percentage points from beating her despite being out spent 7-1. And we all thought the GOP wanted to pick up seats.
