>>Jesus was the first born spirit in the pre-existence.

>That’s where Mormans get it wrong. Jesus is God Almighty in the flesh.

Sigh. The libs are rubbing their hands together at the prospect of religious doctrine fights like this in our party. I’m no friend of Mitt or Huck (both are too lib for me), and I love core social values. But this kind of conversation has no winners, and it being held on a public stage in a political context is probably exactly the kind of thing the Founding Fathers were trying to avoid.

Libs go too far in banishing creches and menorahs from public places, but having some separation of church and state is probably a good thing. (please don’t all stone me at once, guys!)

I think debating religion on Free Republic is fine—many of us here are very, very interested in religious doctrine.

So I think it’s OK (and understandable) here to discuss whether Satan was Jesus’ brother—it doesn’t mean we are all going to discuss it when we all go precinct walking in October before the election.
