The ny post is anti-gun (just like the ny slimes), so I think they tried to make it LOOK like this woman, who was NOT a current police officer or licensed security guard, WAS one of these "officials", by putting Col. in front of her name. It's probably short for Coloradan, but THEY want all to believe she is a Colonel, in my opinion.

Can't report that an AVERAGE LAW-ABIDING CITIZEN accomplished what she did, now can we?

The results the same either way, he is dead and dead is done.
Last week here in Alaska we had a guy kill his father with a machete, stole a truck, killed an innocent man in a totally random act, shot a woman jogger before police stopped him, I actually met the guy in a bar and a lot of people knew him, he just snapped.
I am wondering what real influences there are at work to create these people, its becoming almost a weekly thing.

And I am doing CCW daily now.

Was the PD at the presser, or are they ignoring it?

""Tactical officers with the El Paso County Sheriff's department take up positions behind vehicles around the perimeter of the New Life Church in Colorado Springs."

Were she in Phoenix, the “New Times” news?paper? would publish her name, address and a map to her house for those who believe she is a threat to society.

That's what Col. in front of someone's name means. Using Col. at the beginning of a sentence to mean "Coloradan" would be a usage they just made up.

I don't know where the Post got that bit of information. Google didn't turn up any other mention of a service record, and she looks awfully young to have retired as a colonel. Maybe she's a reservist. One Web site tracking citizen complaints against police lists complaints against an officer named Jeanne Assam from 1993 to 1997 -- the only one sustained was for "derogatory language." Don't know if that's the same lady.

She's certainly anything but average.
