If you have ever applauded when your Representative brings home a Federal highway project or flood control money, you are just as guilty as the Representative. If you have ever voted for a candidate because he promised to protect or expand a particular program that you happen to benefit from, you cannot object when he and all his buddied vote to expand some other program as well.

Well, I have not. I have always been one who has dreamt of a government that would only put a program in place if was completely needed. And if the program was needed, they would put Common Sense programs in place and remove or reform programs if they are not working.

Instead, we have a Government which is hell-bent on making a program for every little ailment of society, no matter the cost, with no oversight on how the programs are actually doing. Bottom line: The Fed Gov is too big and needs to go on a diet and they need to become better handlers of the money and the power that we entrust to them. Otherwise, they can leave, quietly or kicking and screaming. Makes no difference to me.

Well, that is the right attitude, I have to say. I assailed my Republican Representative when he had a town meeting to brag about how he brought a multi-Million dollar flood control project to our town. I am happy to note that he has decided not to run again, but I am not so delusional to think it is because of me.
