Take care of yourself. My experience with raising teens came with on the job training. I specialize in geriatrics though. I'm sorry your experience with your grandmother was traumatic but I have noticed that a lot of people that go into health care helped "take care of" a special needs family member during their childhood.

My grandmother’s part was keeping me the first few years of my life when my mother worked at the telephone office and slept during the day. Grandmother ironed and the collie dog baby sat me.
