yea, not a lot of common sense there

It's not just the lack of common sense, it's destructive thinking.

These "pray for the perp" people are hopelessly naive and spread a type of thought that to me is troublesome.

Personally,
I'm glad the bastard is dead.
I'm glad the countless people who would otherwise be dead were fortunate enough to have someone on their side..with a gun..and the skill to use it.
And if God had anything to do with it I'm glad He gave her the skills to take the bastard out.

I just wish He would have had her show up earlier.

I have no problem with your list. I agree with all of that except I'm not sure about the dead part. Maybe I would have rather have seen him get a death penalty ( a salvational thing) That said, don't under-estimate the power of prayer. The kids couldn't physically stop him. They could have got out of dodge but they went to prayer instead.

That "troublesome" thought is that God is a worker of miracles. God can make the ill whole. God can bring peace to the disturbed. If that is hopelessly naive, then put me in that camp. Now, if I had a weapon and was able to use it, I'd be all for acting and praying at the same time. Which is what the lady did.
