There is nothing finer than going past a good steakhouse and having that aroma waft in the window, these enviro-nazis wont be happy until they regulate everything and everyone to their own standards, the vegan b*stards....

Steakhouses or other restaurants with open, slotted charbroiler grills heated from below would be regulated if they cook 800 pounds of beef a week and the grill is at least 10 square feet in size.

And so they go out and buy 9.5 sq ft grills...

and the liberals change the rule to 9 sq ft...

and the eateries go out any buy the 8.5 sq ft grills...

And so on...

and the Left thinks this is a great contribution to the economy, because they're "stimulating commerce and production in grills".

I'm surprised that we don't see substantial tax deductions for installation of air pollution controls here in California. That way, the restaurant owners mentioned in this article could "write off" 50% or more of the installation cost of these emission controls on their business tax returns, just like the railroads are getting tax incentives to run diesel-electric locomotives with EPA Tier 2 diesel exhaust emissions compliance (that's why both BNSF and Union Pacific are running their latest locomotives in California nowadays).

“Reports predict dismal year for California economy “

Just a few posts above this post is the above headline....could the communist controls of the CA government have anything to do with this.....They are out to destroy free enterprise...but it is o.k. because it is for your own good anyway.....

The “fine particles” smell good.

I’m going to grill up some chunks of dead cow tonight and I’m sure everybody down wind will be able to smell “fine particles.”

First they came for the 10 sq foot grills
and I did not speak out
because I didn't own a 10 sq foot grill.
Then they came for the hibachis
and I did not speak out
because I did not own a hibachi.
Then they came for Fry-o-lators
and I did not speak out
because I did not own a Fry-o-lator.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left
to speak out for me.

Air district engineers say commercial charbroilers emit 6.9 tons a day of fine soot particles and 1.1 tons a day of smog-forming gases.

Can someone explain this to me? Even if 1 pound of beef somehow produced 1 pound of fine soot, that means that the restaurant is serving some 13,800 pounds of beef a day?

Air Boards and all the other similar agencies created following the EPA and ESA are the new American Gestapo. Accountable to no one, created by pressure from the neurotic lobby (growing as we speak), and completely oblivious to cause, effect, and the scientific method.

There is no longer any need to think ahead to the effect on millions of people before arbitrarily making up new rules, regulations and creating new criminals.

I would not want to be any of these losers "just following orders" or new laws when the victims (the rest of us) are finally fed up.

It won't be pretty.

And these same imbecilic politicians will be the first people to complain when their steak costs them forty or fifty dollars, for only the stupid believe global change to be anthropogenic in nature and not natural and only the stupid believe there will be no penalty for these mandates.

As a recovering restaurateur, I know the restaurants will not and can not bear the cost of these scrubbers. For many, this additional burden will cause their closure. As for the rest, just like any other form of taxation, the customers will be the ones paying for this political farce not the owners.

It is not global warming that I fear. What I fear, what we all should fear, are arrogant politicians who believe they have the ability to play God with a world they do not understand and the illiterate, ignorant fools who vote for them!
