This is what I can't figure out, especially given the mitten's current financial state: Why try enacting a ban? Why isn't our state gubmint trying to cash in--FURTHER--on smokers?

If the dims had put any thought into it, they'd have realized that this is a money-making opportunity. What does a store, restaurant, bar etc do if they want to sell alcohol? They apply for a license ($$$). Let's imagine our state gubmint goes that route: How else, besides licensing fees, can they make money off of establishments friendly to smokers? Why not require--as a condition of licensing--special ventilation systems? ($$$ KA-CHING $$$--unionized mechanical contractors making money, permit department raking in the fees, code compliance heavies finding faults everywhere, assessing all kinds of violation fees...)

I'm astounded that the dims would go for an outright ban, when a golden calf, chewing on tobacco leaves, is just a-sittin in yonder pasture!

Kinda scary, just how easily I can slip into the mind of a dim...
