A throne, similar to one found recently in an ancient
Roman settlement near Naples, is shown in a painting from
the same period in a photo released December 4, 2007.
An ancient Roman wood and ivory throne has been unearthed at a dig
in Herculaneum, Italian archaeologists said on Tuesday,
hailing it as the most significant piece of wooden furniture
