OH man, I don't know who you're responding to, but that was exactly my thought when listening to him field a question on the subject. He said something like, "I had 24-hour security because (slight pause) of threats. Credible threats.."
I swear he was about to say "I had 24-hour security because my own damn city wasn't safe!"
