Frank Luntz declared Fred Thompson the winner of the Republican debate based on his focus group. They didn't like McCain on torture, they liked Thompson's fiscal conservatism, his visible fire in the belly, etc. etc. Romney is the second choice.
LLS
EXACTLY!!!
Not anything there? When did he say that? Before or after Fred came out with the recent plans on taxes and social security?
I like, Mr. Thompson, but I agree with Charles Krauthammer.
Fair enough, but it does show broader support within the party influentials.
And this is what Rush was saying about “fire in the belly” and we’ll see what happens in the future.
He siad he doesn’t endorse candidates in primaries but that Fred was the only conservative in last night’s line up.
Thanks so much for sharing that.
Did Hannity have smelling salts handy?
I think Charles said that about a week ago. I think it was after the recent plans though. At the time, I was thinking about those plans as I sat there disagreeing with him.
At the very top of the interview he said that the winner of the debate was thompson, and it wasn’t until a little later that he included Romney.
Having said that though, it interesting to me that he was saying that in the group, the folds that came in supporting both Guliani and McCain left supporting neither one.
You listen and not just hear! Congrats! :-)
Right on the above, but bearing false witness against FreeRepublic as being a "hate sight" by quoting posts that didn't exist (could not be found by search, producer admitted they did not have), I've seen his dark side and have lost all respect for him.
That is my take having just read the transcript provided in #39.
My candidate’s the one who had his past forays into moderateness or liberalism “displayed”.
But the real question is whether Fred Thompson will once again be in the top 4. Rasmussen has him holding on in the top 5, but only by the margin of error. If he slips too much, he’ll just be another conservative with Hunter and Tancredo.
FT is now trading below Ron Paul in Intrade. About 5% for the nom. Waiting for him to catch fire.....waiting......
here is the link, not sure of the timing WRT recent plans.
