Wallace puts up the quotes from Barnes and Krauthammer as the concervative attitude towards Thompson (which he normally would never do about ‘Fair and Balanced’ FOX). As Fred pointed out that these two gentlemen were not the Alpha and the Omega of the conservative movement, Wallace did his best to shout him down. That was the ‘sticking in the knife’. They clearly are believers in the ‘Golden Rule’. He who has the gold (Murdock) makes the rules.

This is apparently news to everyone, but Fox News is not the media arm of the Republican party. They are entitled to throw hard questions at Republicans and are not obligated to keep any sort of golden rule. What is unique about Fox News is that we actually get an opportunity to tell our side. Thompson should have seen this as an opportunity to reply, not insult. What happens on other networks is that we don't even get a chance to reply.

Fox may not be perfect but they are a far cry better than any other news network.
