You're not correctly interpreting the thought exercise that is known as "Schrödinger's Cat" - he was attempting to demonstrate the absurd problems associated with marrying the Copenhagen model to macro-mechanics.

Much of the idea however - that you're calling a religious belief - is absolutely factual, symmetrical and reproducible via a Quantum Double-Slit Experiment. 

Attempting to apply wave-particle duality as this team is, however, seems futile and goofy.
