MASS. KILLED MY GIRL (Victim's Father Rips Mass. 'Stupidity')
The Boston Herald ^ | 21 November 2007 | Michele McPhee and Jessica Van Sack

Posted on 11/21/2007 6:11:19 AM PST by Hemingway's Ghost

The father of a Washington woman slaughtered along with her new husband - allegedly at the hands of a convicted Bay State killer - said his daughter’s accused murderer never should have been released from prison here.

“It’s because of stupidity in Massachusetts that my daughter is dead,” said Darrel Slater, 55, who is preparing to bury his daughter, Beverly Mauck, 28, and her husband Brian Mauck, 30.

The couple was executed in their home in rural Graham, Wash., Saturday after an alleged argument with Daniel Tavares Jr., 41, who in 1991 pleaded guilty to hacking his mother to death with a carving knife in their Somerset home in served 16 years for that crime.

Willy Horton 2008?............Romney?

That remains to be seen, however as a historical footnote, it was noneother than AL GORE who invoked Willie Horton in the 1988 political season, during his own sputtering campaign for President.

Gore thought nothing of using Willie Horton against Dukakis during the 'Rat primary period, but how often do we hear about that?

NEVER, Willie Horton is always mentioned in the same breath as 'Republican Dirty Tricks', noooo no drive-by media bias THERE!

As for Judge Tuttman, an honorable person would immediately resign their position from the bench but there is no reason to expect that, because clearly Tuttman has no honor whatsoever.

Please feel free. Steal it and post it far and wide. Everyone should know about this.

If you know any Iowa/NH specific forums, put it there too. Make T-Shirts if you want! :)

Right.

Exactly. I'm not exactly a Mitt hater or anything even remotely akin to that---hell, I voted for him when he ran for Senate and when he ran for Governor---but I sure as hell don't see how he thinks he can stand up to the professional hacks in DC if he cratered to our B-team of hacks up here.

How can any judge think a man that HACKS his MOTHER to death could EVER be ok to release back into civilized society? Of course our society becomes less civilized each day.

I kind of feel bad for Mitt on this one: he probably searched high and low to find a woman he could appoint in good faith, and probably figured a prosecutor would be fairly conservative, and the president of a temple might have a certain amount of values . . . and since she was a Democrat, she might get approved . . . then, POW, right in the kisser with this one.

Mitt always had my sympathy as the Gov of Mass... Talk about spitting in the wind.

She must've lost her mind when she let that savage go off scot-free.

I really do wish she would vocalize what it was that made her do such a thing. Yeah, she's from Mass and that accounts for a certain amount of natural bleeding heart moonbattery but is that really it? What was it she was thinking? Was it prison overcrowding? Who puts pressure on judges to release these monsters? Why should any judge take such a risk?

Politicians always think they can have it both ways. But; then they lie.

Political views most certainly matter when it comes to judges. When hasn't it?

Exactly, this mythology that judges somehow become apolitical when receiving a life-time appointment is about as valid as believing that reporters can put their beliefs aside and report straight news. Fairy tales at best.

Those are outstanding questions, and, of course, they cut to the very essence of the issue.

I wonder . . . her husband's a criminal defense attorney. Not for nothing, but I wonder if he has her ear?

DING. DING. DING. We have a winner. ===> Payoff for freedom.
Inquiring minds want to know:
What is the relationship between the perp's lawyer and the Judge's husband's law firm?
