What’s with your obsession with Jews? I was just pointing out a factual error of yours.

Friends shouldn't let other friends vote when they're high on dope.

Just say "NO" to the Ron Paul Cult

Now you’re giving all the secrets away. Don’t forget the Masons and the Illuminati, Alex Jones has copious details on their roles for the Paulinati.

Got ya.

You're suggesting that Freerepublic is a "true conservative" forum, which supports the America is a colonial power, anti-war remove the troops not agenda.

I think you're wrong and write your proposition off to more dishonest Paul propaganda.

No. I'm saying that FReepers in general agreee with Ron Paul on domestic issues such as abortion, the 2nd Amendment and immigration but disagree with him on foreign affairs. More moderate sites disagree with Paul on domestic AND foreign issues, therefore you do not get opposing posts over there. If you were intellectually honest enough to acknowledge this simple logic, we'd get a lot further in these discussions.

Right, and abolishing the IRS without a replacement bankrupting the government and withdrawing troops from around the world. He's a mainstream Republican alright. I've seen criticism here of virtually all Pauls positions other than the 2nd, including abortion and immigration.

Of course none of it really matters, he admits he won't do a *amn thing if elected anyway, other than withdraw the troops. The rest is up to Congress, a venue he's served in for 2 decades without accomplishing a thing.

You think I'm dishonest, I could care less about that either. The war is his issue, without it he's back to being an ineffective Libertarian masquerading as a Republican.

=================

All of his ideas were rooted in the Constitution, Paul said. But he recognizes that some -- like eliminating the IRS, and returning all funding of education to the states -- are unlikely to be achieved as president. So he said he’d focus on the one area a president has more leverage -- foreign policy. “Very simply, we can come up with a program of saying mind our own business, bring our troops home, have a strong national defense,” he said. “At the same time, be stronger and wealthier, save this money, take care of the people that are needy, follow the Constitution, protect personal liberty, have a prosperous economy.”

Asked later by a student how he would withdraw troops, Paul said the sooner the better, but that it would likely take three to six months. “Just announcing that we were gonna leave, and that we were serious," he said, "I think there would be a de facto peace agreement."

I’m only one person. I can’t fight the Ron Paul spam by myself.

I don't know how Google bombs work, so I don't know how to counteract them. If you could lay out a strategy for doing so, I would be glad to add it to each of my posts.

Quick clarification, I don't consider you dishonest. I like you personally. I accused you of being intellectually dishonest when it comes to Paul.

Right, I’m intellectually dishonest, no one can figure out what I think about Paul.

I’ve discussed all these things in detail elsewhere, find the threads if you want to dispute them.

Ron Paul is not a Republican, he’s out of touch on major issues, and runs as a Rep only as a convenience.

I’m opposed to Paul’s immediate withdrawal from Iraq.

I’m opposed to Paul’s withdrawl of forces from around the world, the idea we’ve no enemies, or allies, is absurd.

His and his supporters about the lack of a “declaration of war” is juvenile posturing, as demonstrated by his willingness to vote for an authorization to use force.

The idea of repealing the income tax without a replacement is absurd. Tars those of us who would support an alternative, whether flat, fair, sales or simply lowered brackets and elimination of deductions ala Reagan with the stink of moonbatism.

His call for “smaller government” is backed by no planning, indicative of his sound bite thinking.

He holds to the belief that the GOP and American has been hijacked, whether violently or coercively isn’t clear, by an undefined neocon conspiracy. He’s a nut.

He has a perfect Congressional record of zero accomplishments. Which he revels in.

His associations with truthers tars Republicans with the stink of moonbats.

His associations with racists, neonazis and Holocaust deniers tars Republicans with the stink of assorted antisemites, racists and haters.

The questionable tactics of his supporters slapping signs where they don’t belong and spamming the internet make Republicans look like anarchists.

A campaign of soundbites with no substance at all makes Republicans look shallow, if not ignorant.

I've left some things out, but he has no business running as a Republican, third party is the place for him, he can attract leftists and assorted nuts there.

But Pauls support is not all Republican.

Who cares? Winning elections is all about building a coalition while retaining your core base. Paul has support from everyone -- libertarians, independents, traditional liberals, and old-right conservatives pissed off at the GOP. Or do you prefer to keep milking the socon vote and then getting mad when libertarians and indepedents stay home or vote 3rd party and your RINO candidate loses?

I'm telling you, the GOP is a dying party, if it wasn't for Paul there would have been a 3rd party candidate.

Paul will be the third party candidate who will make Hillary’s win possible with less than 50%.
