Ebert has been an unrepentant lefty from the git-go. It’s annoying that he does know something about the movies, and infuriating that he really can write.
I used to like his reviews, before he became so political. I didn't necessarily like the films he liked, but his reviews were nonetheless informative. After he started writing about politics, though, his reviews started to be more about politics than about movies.
