~”I would like to hear what some of you guys with better computer speakers than me think of this video about Mitt and amnesty.”~
In the video you cited, Romney says the following:
“My view is, those who are here contrary to the law should seek to establish legal residence. And if they do so, I would be delighted to provide support.” (2005)
In other words, those who want to get right with the law should have the support of the goverment to do so. Sounds like a reasonable thing for a governor to say. Are you contruing that statement to be equivalent to support of amnesty? If so, then I’ve got some ointment for the cramp that stretch must have caused you.
Romney is on the record on many occasions in support of enforcement of immigration law. In fact, he spoke about that topic with Glenn Beck this evening.
“My view is, those who are here contrary to the law should seek to establish legal residence. And if they do so, I would be delighted to provide support. (2005)”
If that isn’t amnesty, then what is amnesty.
I thought that it meant that you were here contrary to law, you say that you want citizenship, and then the politician provides support.
Taking some reading lessons and stop trying to tell people that amnesty by a different name is not amnesty.
