“That’s right, and most people don’t give a rip about any endorsement period!”

I’ll betcha people will care when Fred Thompson get the NRA endorsement.

What exactly makes DeMint better than Allen or Inhofe?

I am hopeful Fred will endorsed by the NRA and, based on his record, he has a very good shot. But surely even Mitt’s supporters know that he’s very unlikely to get that endorsement, either.

Here’s the real reason the National Right to Life Committee didn’t endorse Mitt Romney...

They remember what happened to the last pro-life group that tried to endorse him, the last time he ran for public office.

That is an amazing video. Thanks very much for the link.
As I have said before, it’s clear that NRLC believed Thompson and simply did not believe Romney. I really don’t care what Mitt says he’ll do now. He has no credibility on this issue.

He’s for Mitt. That makes him much better...

Thought you would know that...

What is being missed here is the importance of an endorsement from a national abortion abolition organization of this magnitude. The problem with having Rudy Giuliani as a candidate is that, even if pro-lifers are going to take the lesser of two evils and vote for him anyway, they are not going to WORK for him with any degree of enthusiasm.
For decades, the heavy lifting in the GOP has been done by social conservatives. Without people to lick envelopes, walk precincts, make coffee and phone calls, and do all the things it takes to get out the vote, no candidate is going to win.
With the imprimatur of NRLC, millions of pro-life activists now know that they can get out there and work for Thompson with a clear conscience.
If the movement will get behind Fred, we won’t have to worry about choosing between two pro-abortion candidates (the “choice/choice choice.) But we have to be the ones that tell our friends and neighbors, because the media, so far, is not all that interested in covering Fred.

If the NRA endorses before the primaries it will be Fred!

Hi,

First, you are not being logical or reasonable. I was comparing a the NRLC endorsement to the endorsement of SC's only Republican senator. Do you understand why your question disappoints me and makes it hard to have a discussion? It is offpoint.

But honestly, I'll take DeMint over both of them and I bet you would, too. Neither Senator Macaca or Inhofe are from states that play early. I think Inhofe is a good guy but Allen I would rather not have.

I really don’t care what Mitt says he’ll do now. He has no credibility on this issue.

Why would he, as governor, veto stem cell research? Can you name a single action he took as governor that betrayed the side of life?

At best, you have him guilty of lying to liberals.

Commonwealth Care, more commonly known as RomneyCare, because it was Mitt's baby, includes taxpayer-funded abortions.

Pretty major item, don't you think?

Romney still supports the destruction of human embryos for the purposes of scientific experimentation, by the way.

“Can you name a single action he took as governor that betrayed the side of life?”

Try this one on for size, 13 months to the day AFTER he claims he “saw the light” in a meeting with Harvard scientists.

Be sure to listen closely for this:

Romney changes position
on “morning after pill”

by Martha Bebinger

BOSTON — A new law to make emergency contraception more available in Massachusetts continues to be a political rollercoaster for Governor Mitt Romney.

He supported expanded access when campaigning for governor, but vetoed a bill expanding access, earlier this year. The bill then passed over his veto.

Earlier this week, the governor sought to exempt Catholic and other private hospitals from having to offer “morning after pills” to rape victims. Then yesterday, he reversed his position.

WBUR’s Martha Bebinger reports on reaction to this latest twist.
