Yes, even in winter the city of Cicinnati is often 10 degrees warmer than my rural location;you don’t suppose 100,000 furnaces clustered have an effect?

He's in the perfect place to study this. The Phoenix of today hardly resembles the Phoenix I grew up in. During the summer, it's still nearly 100*F at midnight.

Much of that phenomenon can be attributed to the increase in concrete and asphalt, which releases heat very slowly after the sun goes down.
