re: “hearts and minds”
A huge problem is that so many millions of “hearts and minds” are so badly corrupted by Islamofascism and/or leftist b.s.
Hard to succeed in stopping terrorism when millions are working against you..... still, it is fortunate that there are some good leaders in place in the USA, UK, France, and Germany. Could be a lot better, but could also be A LOT worse (i.e, the Demagogues could take over in the USA if the media types have their way).

All very true.
From the article: We must isolate Islamic extremists who in our colleges and local communities seek to manipulate and divide our society.
Can you imagine the absolutely unrestrained, screeching and apoplectic Hell that would be unleashed upon President Bush if he were to dare suggest something similar as pertaining to the Marxists and anti-American, pro-Jihadist trash that infest our Universities here?

My great hope is that thoughtful voters will look at the leaders whom you so rightly mention and then look at Mrs. Bill Clinton and say "ummm....do you honestly expect us to think of you as an intellectual or moral equal to THEM??"
If they do, Mrs Bill Clinton will be making bushel-baskets full of money on the lecture circuit but will not be having a direct effect upon policy in 2009.
