You're right. It is a brave new world, one in which dogs are more often recognized and valued as members of the family. One reason for the 2nd Amendment is to help the government storm troopers remember that We, the People, have rights that are not to be trampled upon. My gut reaction would be the same: defend my family and property and shoot back.
If this story was about a homeowner killing "oh lets say" three officers
for killing a dog, would you support the end result of the story?
There are stupid people in every profession. Including dog catchers.
Shame on anyone trying to justify any death of an Officer of the law over a Dog.
And yes, I hold an extremly high respect for the lives of Law enforcement!
