This issue of raising cigaratte taxes to fund children’s health has happened in a few states, I think.

what the heck will they do if more and more people quit smoking, and/or father time takes care of the remaining smokers? Exactly who then will be paying the punitive cigarette taxes?

When there’s no more smokers they’ll legalize gambling and tax that.

So who will be paying the cigarette taxes after all the smokers are gone? Everybody, thanks to the biggest tax scheme of all time - global warming. Anyone who isn’t ‘green’ enough or fails to pay the upcoming carbon tax will become the new “smoker” and treated as such... the scourge of society.

Here in Michigan they stopped using that worn out line a couple of increases ago.

When our governor approved the last cigarette tax hike she at least had the honesty to say that it was to help fund the overspent, underfunded state budget.........

What a lot of folks don't think about is that if a person is unemployed, he can't pay any state income taxes......That's why they just passed the latest "Service Tax" increase aimed at businesses but ultimately paid by the consumer. Even people with no incomes still have to purchase something......
