I have known, liked and admired Pat Robertson for about 25 years maybe more.
Pat has said and done some dumb things occasionally during that period of time, but, until this week, I would have counted him among the "good guys" a righteous man of principle.
With his endorsement of Rudy Giuliani for president of the United States, he has me doubting him big time.
Keep in mind, this is the presidential primary season. I admit, the choices among the front-runners Giuliani, Fred Thompson, Mike Huckabee, John McCain and Mitt Romney leave a principled constitutionalist with a biblical worldview in doubt. In my opinion, there is no clear choice among them.

Pat jumped the shark a long time ago.. Why would any person or campaign think his endorsement is worth anything?
If Pat Robertson was such a force with Christian conservatives, then why didn’t he win the nomination in ‘88? If he couldn’t even win the primaries then, what makes all the talking heads think he is going to be so much help to Rudy?
Has Pat Robertson seen the NYT piece after 9/11 where the reporter describes a morning with one of Giuliani’s homosexual “roommates” kissing Rudy goodbye as he goes to work? Does Pay think that a President Giuliani would do anything else except fight like hell for the expansion of the “gay” agenda? In light of Rudy’s very disturbing living arrangements, this endorsement is even more grotesque.
1. Robertson
2. Hannity
3. Medved
4. Ted Olson
5. Fred Barnes
We need to compile an “enemies list” of so called conservatives that we don’t like. I would like to add Rupert Murdoch, too.
Who are some more enemies for the list?
Abortion continues to be a divisive isssue among voters, as it has been for, at least, the last four elections. Why not settle the matter in a national referendum?
SoCon....you say; “Actually, if one is honest with themselves before God, they never sacrifice their morals or principles, especially on issues of Life, not too mention all the other moral issues that Rudy is just flat wrong on.”
So it would seem by to be more concerned with your own “morals and principles” than with being effective. Let me ask you...would you sacrifice your little finger to save a million people in china...if no one would ever know?
Well....I'm glad to see someone else question Pat's sanity...and admit that principled constitutionalists with a biblical worldview have no representation in the field. Argh.
He’s old and he should have retired before dementia set in.
True
My sister in laws brother was a cable guy in Virginia Beach and he had to go Robertson's house to fix the cable. He described Robertson's house as a palatial mansion. He owns a diamond mine in Africa and is in with the Chinese. Recently, he said that the Chinese one child policy was good.
If he thinks the end of the world is coming, how come he keeps asking for and collecting more money all of the time.
Every person on that list has decades' worth of conservative bona fides...
What's your claim to conservative credentials? Posting anonymously on a board? If that's not the extent of it, who are you?
And many, many, more.
Then make a list of all the men they support.
Ummmmm....thinking....let’s see....maybe....no...wait...how about.....na....still thinking......ummmmmmm
So true. John Kerry would have been the better choice.
Welcome to Free Republic...where electing Democrats is better for the country than electing Republicans!
I am done with Pat. Period. Short of him later being diagnosed with Alzheimer's, this permanently tarnishes his reputation if he is doing this while in his right mind. I have not been this disappointed in someone in quite a while.
Robertson’s a weasel. He’s got some major problems with what he did during Korea, and ever since then he’s been a “show me the $$$$$” kind of guy. What ever made people think this guy was a Christian?
If he goes to Heaven, I hope the Lord is waiting for him with a big stick.
I saw earlier that Bildebergs (illuminiati?) were giving their approval of Guillliannni
