“It’s not one of those multi-role do it all type machines.”

Funny, USAF is selling it as a multi-role machine to justify the purchase. There’s a renewed emphasis on its ground attack capability in Congress, and there’s even been talk of using it as a means to jam enemy communications in Iraq (which is, frankly, just silly. The Army can do this with a truck).

More ground forces means more causalities. What better way for the Dems to cry our troops are getting killed on the ground. Face it, the more folks we have on the ground the more targets the enemy has.

If you think Army comm jamming is equivalent to USAF comm jamming, you are too ignorant to have any business posting.

That's probably just something to placate the pols to get them to actually appropriate the money for it. In WW2 the Mustang was touted as multi-role, but everyone who flew it knew it's first and best purpose was to shoot down German planes.
