Blair Isn’t to Blame for Islamist Terror
Guardian Unlimited ^ | 11/11/07 | Denis MacShane

Ten years ago, in November 1997, 50 Swiss tourists rose early to visit the Valley of the Kings across the Nile from Luxor in Egypt. Suddenly from the hills came a group of Islamists. They shot, disembowelled and decapitated the tourists.
It was just one of the many forerunners of 9/11 in 2001 in New York, 7/7 in 2005 in London or 11/M as the Spanish call the train bombings in Madrid in 2004. Today, as the killing in the name of extremist political Islamist ideology increases in tempo and intelligence agencies struggle to disarm those promised a passage to heaven if they blow themselves and others up, the earlier wave of militant Islamist killing can be overlooked.
One of the constant lies of the current debate over terrorism is that it is all the fault of George Bush and Tony Blair.

“A Veterans Day Meditation”
By Nancy J. Thorner
I didn’t see your post “Project seeks to track terror Web posts” and apologize for posting another form of it. You are always “on the ball” and catching what needs to be seen!
A brazen attack by four gunmen on the Pelindaba nuclear facility has left a senior emergency officer seriously injured. Anton Gerber, Necsa emergency services operational officer spoke to the Pretoria News from his hospital bed hours after the attack.
He was shot in the chest when the gunmen stormed the facility's emergency response control room in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The shooting comes four months after Necsa's newly appointed services general manager Eric Lerata, 43, was gunned down in front of his Montana home after returning from a business trip in France.
No problem.
Additional info is always a good thing.
Smiling at you...
Yes, the investigation is still going on.

“THE NEW TROJAN HORSE OF AL QAEDA -INTERNATIONAL TERRORISM MONITOR—PAPER NO.301”
By B.Raman
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “The Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LEJ), the militant wing of the anti-Shia Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP), is emerging as the new Trojan Horse of Al Qaeda to carry out operations on behalf of Al Qaeda in areas where Al Qaeda faces difficulty in operating directly or in those cases where it does not want to operate directly.
2. In the past, this role was being performed by the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LET). Both the LET and the LEJ are members of Osama bin Laden’s International Islamic Front (IIF) for Jihad Against the Crusaders and the Jewish People. Both are strongly Wahabi organisations, but whereas the LEJ is strongly anti-US, anti-Israel, anti-India, anti-Iran and anti-Shia, the LET is only anti-US, anti-Israel and anti-India, but not anti-Iran or anti-Shia.”

“Bomb wounds several in Algerian village”
By Lamine Chikhi Sun Nov 11, 3:08 AM ET
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “MAATKAS, Algeria (Reuters) - A car bomb badly damaged a police station in a village east of Algiers on Saturday evening, wounding several people, residents said.
“The explosion was shocking. It was about 8 to 8.30 p.m. (2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. EST) and I thought the village had been destroyed,” said Aziz Rahmaniya, 22, a resident of Maatkas, a village 80 km (50 miles) east of Algiers in the Kabylie region.
The police station in the village of several thousand people appeared to be almost totally ruined.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but a security source said the attack was launched by Islamist rebels fighting for the past 15 years to try to overthrow the government.
“Right after the blast we clashed with the terrorists and we prevented a major follow-up attack against our people,” the security source said.”

“Chechen rebel urges global jihad”
By Richard Galpin
BBC News, Grozny
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “A Chechen Muslim rebel leader is reported to have described the US, Britain and Israel as legitimate targets in a jihad, or holy war.
Doku Umarov said it was not just the Russian security forces who deserved to be attacked.
The separatist leader said all those who fight Muslims anywhere in the world were enemies.”
