Judge not....what was the rest of that?

The conceit that goes along with religion amazes me...the I’m right and you’re wrong mentality. Keep your religion in your heart and work for good.....and let the others do the same.

Matthew 7:1 Judge not, lest ye be judged

But the Bible also says in Matthew 7:16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?

Mt 7:1 is the most overused verse by non-Christians in the entire Bible and the verse doesn't even say what the non-Christians who quote it thinks it does. The Bible has numerous teachings in it commanding Christians to discern believers from non-believers, prophets from false prophets, and correct teachings from false ones.

James 1:27 says "Good and pure religion before God the Father is this: To care for the widows and orphans and keep oneself unspotted from the world."

On the other hand, Jesus DID give us the command to preach the gospel to all nations. I guess He didn't consider that to be 'religion'.

I didn’t judge anyone. In fact, I specifically stated that it wasn’t my place to judge whether the differences between Mormonism and Protestant Christianity were dealbreakers with regard to Salvation.

Simply noting that there are fundamental doctrinal differences between Protestantism/ Catholicism and Mormonism isn’t a judgment ... it is a fact. There are differences. God can sort out whether those differences are important.
