The Baptists, Methodists, Catholics, Lutherans, Pentecostals, Mormons and a few other faiths have three things in common they believe in Jesus Christ, that He is the Son of God and that He died and was resurrected for our sins.
So whats the problem?
The political pundits continue to try and make Mitt Romneys religious beliefs a big issue as he runs for the Republican presidential nomination. Different denominations of Christianity are just that different denominations which means different worship practices of the same fundamental Christian beliefs.
Some people have commented that they cannot support Mitt Romney because he is a Mormon. When they are pressed to explain why that is objectionable, they stutter. Still others are skeptical of Mitt Romney based solely on hearsay or lack of knowledge about Mormons.

Like I said....
Yawn. Nice substantive response.
And here is the hypocrite accusing me of a crime.....
Wow, that is UNBELIEVABLE. If that is truly your position, you support the repeal of the 1964 Civil Rights Act because an individual is protected from such discrimination by that law. If you ever actually engaged in such conduct, I assure you that you would end up paying a hefty judgment to the person against whom you discriminated.
You really do need to re-consider the wisdom of the discrimination you manifest.
Best wishes.
LOL. Obviously, you are intellectually unable to distinguish between a civil case where you would “end up paying a hefty judgment” and a criminal case where you would “end up in the slammer for a long time.”
But hey, it’s okay if you want to misrepresent the truth of my post. You’re just “lying for the Lord,” right?
If the Church as an institution typically taught its members to have a casual disregard for the truth, the charge that some Church leader had deceived someone else would be no great shock. But, because the Church (contrary to the suggestions of some critics) really does teach its members to aspire to live with honesty and integrity, accusations of deception can be troubling, especially if the critics can selectively report such instances without providing the context or difficulties which might have underlain such decisions.”
I shouldn’t be, but I’m amazed daily at the lengths you folks will go to. The drive-by’s seem to be endless.
I think good conservatives understand what you’re trying to say....and they’re wondering why you’re here and not at DU where you came from.....n00b
I guess sometimes that anti-Mormon hatred seethes so much you just cant think straight between “paying a hefty judgment” in a civil case and “being sent to the slammer for a long time” in a criminal case.
The ones from Tennessee are. The jury is still out on the ones from Kentucky.
I think what I’m clearly stating is that you’re just “lying for the Lord” on your claim that I accused you of committing a crime.
Federal and state laws prohibit discrimination in employment, availability of housing, rates of pay, right to promotion, educational opportunity, civil rights, and use of facilities based on race, nationality, creed, color, age, sex, or sexual orientation.
Where did you get your law degree?
It was nothing BUT insults, my dear. I think you got BOTH of my cheeks already. And I'm the one called a drama queen. However, insulting what is obviously a playful homepage is NOT an argument to this: What does a poor sad woman who killed her children have to do with Romney's bid for the presidency?
I'm positive there are hundreds of smarter FReepers than me. Some of which might think the Bill of Rights should be enforced.
SEC. 201 All persons shall be entitled to the full and equal enjoyment of the goods, services, facilities, and privileges, advantages, and accommodations of any place of public accommodation, as defined in this section, without discrimination or segregation on the ground of race, color, religion, or national origin.
SEC. 202. All persons shall be entitled to be free, at any establishment or place, from discrimination or segregation of any kind on the ground of race, color, religion, or national origin, if such discrimination or segregation is or purports to be required by any law, statute, ordinance, regulation, rule, or order of a State or any agency or political subdivision thereof.
LOL. You’ve never been accused of discrimination by anyone but me? Gosh, aren’t you feeling persecuted?
Maybe if you hadn’t stated your willingness to discriminate against a Mormon in your post by denying him/her a seat/apartment/job because of his/her religion, you wouldn’t be accused of discrimination in violation of the 1964 Civil Right Act.
By the way, I received my law degree from one of the top-tier law schools in the US--BYU.
Nope it is not discrimination. If they told me their religion and I didnt ask, it is none of my business, therefore their lack of discretion would be what my decision would be based upon.
I simply could not have someone working for me, or renting from me or taking a table from someone who demonstrated a higher capacity for keeping a secret. Kinda like a Temple Recommend. WHAT you can keep people out of your Temple who are NOT Mormon. What is the civil rights movement coming to??? LOL
So sue me. LOL
And I am well within my rights to withhold a job based upon this type of "lack of discretion." Therefore I would not offer them a position due to the demeanor of the interviewee(acting as if being Mormon/hindu/catholic/black/hispanic or woman is somehow superior) and not their religion.

Ah, a BYU grad. Then you know my cousin, the dean of the Law School, Kevin Worthen.
I think he would be ashamed.
MAYBE YOU TOO
What are you smokin'?
Romney has solid leads in several key battleground states, including New Hampshire, Iowa, now South Carolina.
The only thing Guliani has going for him is some etherical "national" poll, conducted mostly by mainstream-media paid pollsters, who have a vested interest in seeing Guliani split the GOP.
I too like and admire Hunter, and in fact relate to his ultra conservative politics more than any other candidate.
But I, like many others, don't see Hunter having the personality and charisma that it takes to win the GOP nomination, and US Presidency.
Is that fair?
Certainly not.
But politics never has been fair.
If it was, WWII hero George H.W. Bush would have won re-election over slime-dog Bill Clinton.
Ronald Reagan would have beat Gerald Ford in 1976.
Teddy Roosevelt would have won election on the Bull Moose Party ticket.
I am supporting Romney, in part because I admire him for his virtuous family, and values, and because he is the most conservative person who has the best chance of winning.
There was a time (and still is in parts of Ireland) where Protestants didn't consider Catholics to be acceptable Christians, and visa versa.
In fact, the whole Reformation quest in Europe in the Mid-1400s or there-abouts centered around deeply held beliefs among many Christians that anyone who didn't strictly follow the Catholic doctrine was suitable only for death, or worst.
You ought to be ashamed of yourself.
Naughty, naughty!
