Here's a NY leftie who really hates Rudy. The article gives a good idea of why some of us here on FR are not totally opposed to him.

DO NOT expect Joe Sixpack back in “flyover country” to vote for Rudy.
No way.
It just ain’t gonna happen.
The arguement “vote for me—I’m lousey, but the OTHER GUY would be much worse” doesn’t fly anymore, if it ever did.
Joe will stay home, or go fishing.
He just WILL NOT hold his nose to vote for somebody.
Trust me.

I simply can’t believe that some of the people here are deranged enough that they’d actually prefer to have the Clintons back in power than Rudy.

That’s like letting your house burn down because you’re pissed off that your kitchen caught fire.

I’m voting Republican.

BTW, don’t think that another Clinton presidency will be merely an 8-year hiatus while Conservatives re-trench and march to victory in ‘16.

By the time Hillary gets done, she and her Congress will have guaranteed Democrat supremacy for as long as we remain a country, by assuring that the vote is extended to those that feed off the government teat.

Through entitlements, socialized medicine, legalizing illegals, maneuvering around the Electoral College (bills are already being advanced in some states to force their electors to vote for whomever wins the national popular vote, regardless of the wishes of the citizen of that state), and myriad other socialist tactics.

Including, btw, the return of the Fairness Doctrine.

So I’m voting my conscience in the primaries, where I can afford to, and Republican in the general, where I must.

Giuliani doesn’t understand or support the Second Amendment. That issue alone makes his unacceptable, but it’s far from the only one.

Bush-era conservatism.

There's the problem--the adjective, "Bush-era" is the same as "compassionate", i.e., NOT.

“the favorite to win the Republican presidential nomination is a confirmed right-winger.”

OH BULL-SHIITE!

Tootyfruityrudy is a Socialist.

Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?

The people of NYC called Rudy many things, but “liberal” was never one of them.

They called him “right wing nut case”, “crazy conservative”, “Republican racist”, “fascistic right winger”, but never “liberal”
