I wonder why, when Katrina is mentioned, the only locale discussed is NO?
MS had much more damage due to the hurricane itself.
NO’s damage was self-inflicted due to their neglect of the levies.

You answered your own question. The absence of reporting about MS tells me that there were few, if any, major blunders by anyone in government.

Thanks, y’all.

Mississippi did a much better job dealing with Katrina’s aftermath even though
about half the counties in Mississippi were declared national disaster areas, and
the coast looked like a nuclear bomb hit it.

BTW, I know it’s “levees.” ;o)
