Roger that. I remember one of the funniest TV moments ever on Johnny Carson. Actor Ed Ames (who played the Indian "Mingo" on the Danial Boone TV show) was telling Johnny how he had to learn to throw an ax for his part as an Indian. Johnny wheeled out a lifesize carboard cutout of a man for Ed to demonstrate on. Ed threw the ax and it struck solid right in the groin of the cutout. Johnny casually looked over and ad-libbed "Funny, you don't look jewish." It was hilarious and purely in good fun without malice. Now Johnny would have the JDL camped out on his doorstep with signs and bullhorns.
That was one of the great moments in television.
I miss Johnny more every day.
“Frontier Briss” (Johnny’s comment) was certainly one of the best ad-libs of all time.
He looked more Indian but was, in fact, Russian Jewish.
Ahh, he was one of my favorite singers = deep, mellow smooth voice. He was actually opera trained .
Two of my favorites were "My Cup Runneth Over" and "They Call the Wind Mariah" ..Gosh that was some time ago - long before CD's hmm , gotta get me one
