A search on whois.net shows a domain name registration date of Sept 23, 1996 though the site didn’t necessarily ‘go live’ on that date.
Wow. I remember hearing of the internet around that time, but didn't really know what it was and I hadn't yet been on it. In 97 A friend took me with him to the library where they had a couple of computers with dialup access to show me the internet. I didn't get a computer for the house and internet access of my own until 2001.
