Why Dr. Dobson's right (a Giuliani nomination would be a disaster)
World Net Daily ^ | October 23, 2007 | Jospeh Farah

Posted on 10/22/2007 11:51:09 PM PDT by Ol' Sparky

And, if Giuliani should, by some twist of fate, win the presidency, it will mean the end of Reaganism. It will represent a turning point in the history of the Republican Party and our nation. It will mean the continued deaths of tens of millions unborn babies when we are closer than ever to defeating the abortion culture that Roe v. Wade initiated in 1973.

Should Giuliani succeed, it will represent the end of any hope for the Republican Party to serve as an alternative to the Democratic Party for millions of people like me and Dr. Dobson. That's bigger than two terms of Hillary Rodham Clinton. That's worse even than four or eight more years in the wilderness.

I actually believe it would be worse for America if Rudy Giuliani were elected president than Hillary Rodham Clinton.

If Hillary wins, the reaction to her predictable overreaching will be similar to what we experienced in 1994 – a "Republican revolution."

If Rudy wins, millions will simply defect from the Republican Party. If you want to see the rise of a third party, just be sure to nominate Giuliani and elect him as president.

The long-term consequences of a Giuliani victory are far worse than the consequences of a Clinton victory.

So let's avoid that dire choice now. There's still time to avoid such an unpleasant scenario. Let's just nominate a Republican the Republican base can support.

no, so we are telling the GOP now, before it is too late, to do whatever it takes to prevent rudy from getting the nomination

Dude, you have inspired me. I have my chosen candidate - Mitt Romney, and have said I would vote for whomever get the nomination, but with these words, you have truly inspired me (a picture is worth a thousand words):

“But, when the time comes, I pray we all are prepared to crawl over broken glass to stop Her, regardless of who the Republican nominee is.”

We all must have that attitude. If anyone thinks that we can afford Hillary Clinton (and God forbid a Democratic senate and house) they are wrong. wrong. wrong.

So much damage would be done by her that it would be hard to recover. Not impossible, but hard.

We cannot let this Marxist be elected. Period.

Thanks for your post.

If Julie Annie is the nominee .... I’ll be fishing on voting day next year .... that SCUMBAG will NEVER get a vote from me ... and if that means the She wins .... so be it ... it will be the fault of the republican party for nominating this cross-dressing, gun-grabbing, baby-killing, neo-fascist complete ASSHOLE for the highest office in the land

And Besides, Rudy is only one person. A strong, and hopefully wiser GOP majority in both houses can keep him under control. Now I don't hope for a Rudy. We've got a ways to go before this campaign actually starts. I know I for one sure am sick of these continuous elections.

One thing I'd like to see is a ban on campaigning for a certain period between elections, and a cap on how much can be spent for each POTUS hopeful in an election season. Hillary would have to shut up for the rest of the year if such a law was in place because she's been campaigning since Bush won last year. A six month campaign season would be enough for me.

No, you are saying if he wins, you’ll stay home and vote for Hillary.

I’m not going to stay home. I’ll vote for congress and any other elections. It is weird to have a subway series (I’m from NY) and not vote for ‘my guys’ but i don’t want to see a Gropinator...a republican slick willie... represent the GOP in the oval office.

That's an excellent comparison, although I don't see Rudy - - or anybody else for that matter - - being as flagrantly corrupt as Clinton.

“And Besides, Rudy is only one person. A strong, and hopefully wiser GOP majority in both houses can keep him under control.”

I don’t see that happening. At best, we get a president in office, and we are semi-equal with the dems in both houses.

At worst, I realistically see Rudy disgusting huge parts of the Republican constituency, and people voting third party or not at all. This would give the white house to the dems and give them control of both houses.

My hope is Fred or Duncan,...Romney if we have to (even though I can’t see him winning), and Huckabee if there’s a fourth option before Rudy....

And Rudy and Hillary are within pins and needles of each other. I trust him more on foreign policy than hillary...but that isn't saying much. His comments are just not to my liking.

Fight the good fight as hard as you can for your nominee in the primaries. But come the general election? I will never EVER allow Mrs. Clinton to re-enter the White House, except by invitation of the President of the United States.

Well said bootless......I've tried to promote the idea of everyone voting in the primaries for the candidate of their choice, mine being Duncan Hunter. When the smoke clears after the primaries........whoever comes out on top....anyone but hillary!!!!

The failure of our party base to gather around one conservative candidate is handing the nomination to Rudy. We need some to drop out for the good of our country.

I will never vote for the MSM/DNC/RNC picks of Rudy, Romney or McCain.

The fake popularity contest of the primaries make it very difficult for the best person may not get a chance to be elected POTUSA.

There are more registered democrats than republicans which means a republican will lose unless there is a large reason
to vote for them.

The slogan “Vote for me, I may not be as bad as my opponent”, is a sure loser.

We had a fairly conservative 2 term POTUSA that was a large change from the democrat.
Next was a 1 term moderate POTUS that led to the election of a 2 term traitor whom some democrats still think was conservative.
The one that ran for POTUS at the second term was a fine man {much better man than Rudy, Romney or McCain) but he was a moderate.
Next was a 2 term moderate that squeaked by because the democrats put up 2 very bad POTUS nominees.
A conservative would have cleaned house running against such bad nominees.

So the MSM/RNC want to run their worst people in 2008 thinking they might be able to beat such a sorry group of democrats running for POTUS.

How could anything be worse than another Clinton presidency?

If she becomes president, Hillary will turn back the pro-life clock at least 30 years.

The Wicked Witch from the North will wipe the floor with Juli if he is our nominee. Same thing with Mac, & Romney. Why? There isn’t a dime difference and the general electorate will default for her highness.

Just look at what these guys have done politically in their past. Juli is a dem no doubt, Mac is nuts, and Romney is a slickster.

“just as embarrassing as that whole monica episode”

That statement says more about you and your ilk than it does about Rudy {or even Clinton, for that matter}.
