>>Makes you wonder how folks who live in these fireprone areas manage to get insurance.<<

With enough money, you can buy anything.

All:

Yikes, the nursing home my grandmother is in is evacuating. They’re just 2-3 miles North of me off Camino Del Norte, West of the 15. Pomerado Hospital and the nursing homes right next to it evacuated earlier this morning.

I think this is more due to air quality concerns rather than fire, but I did hear a report this morning that residences were burning on both sides of the 15 at Rancho Bernardo Road. Could use confirmation though.

My family is in Poway, and they were evacuated. My little brother works for the FD in San Marcos... I was able to talk to him for about 20 seconds... I can try and keep people apprised as to what's going on... I know where Pomerado Hospital is... my family used to live in Scripps, not too far from there... They were evacuated in 2003 as well. I still can't reach some of them right now...

I'm in St. Louis... so I know as much as anyone else not in the thick of it.

My place of business is west of the 15 around RB Road. Yes, the west side was on fire - homes.
