Wow! Good analysis.

I have to say one thing. You and I don't agree on who we support for President and probably a number of other things. But it seems that you and I are able to discuss it together without a bunch of angry exchanges, put-downs, and all that. We need more people like you on Free Republic right now. I mean, I understand the vitriol against Giuliani as he is the enemy of all that is good and conservative. ;-) But what I don't understand is why the Thompson supporters hate the Romney supporters. And why the Hunter supporters hate the Thompson supporters. Etc.

One can make good and bad observations about every candidate and it doesn't mean that they deserve to be attacked. I wish we could all learn to post intelligent comments and keep the contention to a very dull roar. Just because someone might disagree with someone else on a few minor points doesn't make them enemies.

We're all on the same side and generally have the same conservative goals. This primary election will be over before we know it and we all have to remain friends and allies afterwards. I think that you've been a good example of how we all need to act whether we agree with someone or not, whether we support another poster's candidate or not, etc. Keep it up.

Boy does that peg the BS meter. There is no way that the judy/mittwitt are conservative. So how we have the same conservative goals.

Maybe it's because we're a pack of attack dogs. If we don't have an external enemy to hunt, we snap at each other. And we're all circling over who gets to get the party's next alpha dog. LOL.

Wow, that's a sicko explanation. Probably a grain of truth in it though.

I agree that we need to try to come together. I'm looking at these candidates and trying to like them all, trying to see which ones show promise to beat the Xlinton machine which will have more money than God in 2000. Who comes across in speeches, in debate, in extended personal interviews.

I have my personal preferences for our candidate but I do want a candidate to beat the Dims in 2008. Better yet, one able to swing the late-breaking shallow indie voters to our ticket and help us make gains in the House and even the Senate. It requires considerable charm, personal skills, persuasive ability.

AHEM, I am a Hunter supporter, and like the rest I have associated with her, I do not hate Thompson, nor any of the others running. Not supporting someone, not voting for them or stating you won’t, even pointing out why..........none of the aforementioned, equals hate.
