So you would settle for some socialism to prevent more socialism. That kind of thinking has caused the GOP to align itself with the socialist party at the expense of conservatives. The result will be a more socialistic candidate with each succeding election.

You guys? By stating you guys your are at the very least implying if not out right admitting there is a faction of the GOP that is not conservative. That leaves only one group, socialists. That goes to the very heart of the problem with the Republican party. Don't bother to classify so called "Moderates" as a distinct group. They are socialists who want to appear they are also conservatives in order to appease and appeal to the masses.

What I do understand is that you are not winning if you are willing to sacrifice principles simply for the sake of garnering the most votes. In the end you will rue the day for having supported the very type of candidate you will oppose in the future.
