As an earlier poster stated, I get the sense that Reid and the DBM are going to try and spin this as Rush’s act of contrition for calling the troops “phony soldiers”.

Edwards lost his Senate seat years ago. The people in his own home state hate him. He lost his own home state when he ran for VEEP and he’d lose it if he ran in the national election for Prez (just like Gore couldn’t win Tennessee).
